It is within walking distance of all the local happenings in Alexandria Bay, NY, including Pirate Days, Roaring Twenties Weekend, Poker Runs by the flashy cigarette boats, antique and boat shows as well as many family activities. The entire 1000 Island area of the St. Lawrence River and St. Lawrence Seaway will keep you spellbound whether you are a boater, fisherman or just a tourist.The Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY, is only a few miles away. Here you'll see the finest collection of wooden boats and boating memorabilia. Across the Thousand Islands Bridge is the Gananoque Casino if you care to gamble. Five golf courses are within a ten-minute drive. SkiDoo and boat rentals are nearby.Boldt Castle on Heart Island and Singer Castle on Dark Island are nearby,and visited by the local cruise line.

Private fishing charters and boat tours are readily available. Local fishing guide, Captain Rick Rose, keeps his 27' boat in the Otter Street boathouse. He is a 1000 islands river guide, master chef, and boat surveyor.Relax in the evening on your own private deck. Gaze out at Otter Creek, and watch the freighters in the St. Lawrence Seaway from the mini-balcony on the second floor.  The townhouse has two five-room units. They are both for rent by the week in summer so you can bring a second family if you reserve early.This serene retreat is just a short walk or drive to all the action.PayPal accepted for charging by credit card.

The large tree between the townhouse and boathouse is gone and a new deck is being built for guests to use. It will make a great place to overlook the Otter Creek activities.

We have stayed in the Townhouse now for 3 years. Last year for 2 weeks! Very beautiful inside with full kitchen and 2 bedrooms. Our Boat was right outside our door and we could walk two blocks to town!! Very clean and would reccomend to all!!

We rented the otter street house over Memorial day weekend 2009. It worked very well for all of us. We could make meals, the kids could fish right out our door. We would recommend this house to anyone staying in Alex Bay. Betsy Alexander New York

The photos and description were extremely accurate and the property was clean and very well maintained. The owner was reachable by phone and was able to answer any questions we had. The housekeeper also checked frequently if we needed anything. The townhouse was perfect for my husband, myself, our 7 month old son and dog. We had a fantastic time. The water views from the backyard deck, gazebo and master bedroom are just spectacular. The townhouse is located just a few short blocks to town. There is a pharmacy just across the street and having a little one, we frequently walked over there. Our favorite restaurant in Alex Bay was the restaurant in the Riveredge Resort and a breakfast restaurant in Clayton called the Koffee Kove. We had a great week for our first time in the Thousand Island region and are looking forward to possibly coming again next year. If we do come back next year, we may come either during the wine festival which is Father's Day weekend or during the Pirate festival. We did appreciate the quiet of the week prior to the season starting. Thanks Anne for your hospitality!

Owner's Response: This is great to hear from a renter (and to have "early in the season" renters). Alexandria Bay is only gearing up for summer now. We hadn't even finished fence,garden, and lawn repair when Easter arrived and this family visited. I meet (by phone, if not in person) the finest people when renting out my places through the Homeaway system.

Excellent accommodations at Alexandria Bay

Mrs. Rogers was kind enough to let us rent for two days for a local wedding. Our family had both sides of the townhouse. Naturally we did not take advantage of some of the attributes which would be important to normal vacationers -- i.e., the kitchen facilities, the boat dock, etc. Nevertheless, the townhouse was very comfortable, and the screened in porch on the upper dock was a great place to relax in the evening. The location was perfect -- within walking distance of the town's restaurants and nightlife. The television, both upstairs and down, pulled in scores of stations -- for those who might be trapped inside on a rainy day. The only drawback was the lack of a second bathroom or downstairs "powder room", as the line for the bathroom could get long.
